Though most people would label a guitarist as either Lead or Rhythm- Robert's philosophy is that guitar is simply the vehicle in which he expresses himself best and that “guitar” encompasses more than just Lead or Rhythm. His melodic, textural style- which spans a wide pallet of tones-crosses over into both Lead and Rhythm seamlessly. His influences such as King's X, Santana, Robin Trower, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Police including newer ones like Lenny Kravitz, Jack Johnson, and Audio Slave, lends to his diversity in playing- everything from Classic Rock which is his roots- to blues, funk, Jazz, R& B, and progressive.
In addition to attending the School of Hard Knocks where he is continuing his education, he graduated from Musician's Institute in 1986. As well as being a dedicated partner in the Factory Seconds Band, he has a full schedule of teaching Guitar/Bass, and enjoys customizing and building guitars. Earlier in his career, he apprenticed with a prominent L.A. Guitar Manufacturer as a Luthier- where he has built many of his custom guitars that he plays on stage and in the studio. Robert calls Factory Seconds Band home. A place where the synergy and dynamics of the band create the perfect canvas where Robert can indeed uniquely express himself through his guitar. |
