Scott Prather started playing drums in 1977. He was married in 1989 to his high school sweetheart Yvette, and had his daughter Shaye in 1993, followed by his son Dallas in 1997. His wife and kids are amazingly supportive. His drumming is heavily influenced by Alex Van Halen (Van Halen), Neil Peart (Rush) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater). Scott grew up in the 70's and 80's and his love of music ranged from Boston to Metallica. As a drummer he has always been open to all styles of music. Some of his practice time would be sitting in his garage playing to the radio for 4 to 8 hours at a time. He enjoys playing Jazz, Rap, Rock, Classic, and Metal and, well just about any other style of music. If you were to ask him he would say that Metal is his favorite style to play, but if you asked his wife, she would tell you that she still hears a little Boston coming from the garage. Scott plays Yamaha Stage Custom Drums with Zildjian cymbals and Mike Portnoy signature drumsticks.
